On the 20th April Ariana Grande released “No Tears Left to Cry,” her first single from her upcoming fourth album. Earlier this week, the singer ended her social media break to showcase her new music with a single teardrop emoji.
The song opens with a soft ballad, and quickly evolves into a more upbeat, very catchy pop track — however, the lyrics are full of emotion. “Right now, I’m in a state of mind / I wanna be in, like, all the time / Ain’t got no tears left to cry / So I’m pickin’ it up, pickin’ it up,” Grande sings during the chorus.
The song is Grande’s first new track since the bombing at her concert in Manchester, England last May that left 22 people dead and injured more than 500.
For many fans, the song — and accompanying music video, which Grande also released at midnight — is a sign of healing, following the horrific event. Grande’s older brother Frankie took to Twitter to share his support for his sister’s new song. He wrote, “Music was made to unite & with this brilliant masterpiece u have done just that. i love u.”
Personally, I love this song for what it represents, and for its very catchy tune, keep it up Ariana as always.
